Takes a standard keyboard shortcut and substitutes it with any text of your choice.
Why would you use this software?
The latest editions of Windows are heavily criticized by frequent users of older operating systems for their inability to handle advanced keyboard shortcuts or poorly designed user interfaces, such as Windows Explorer and Windows 7 Control Panel.
This software takes that functionality away and allows you to redefine the default behavior of frequently used shortcuts, as you can see in the screenshots below.
Using default keyboard shortcuts
We'll start with the most common example: the Windows key combination that opens the Start Menu. In all previous versions of Windows, this combination of the key behaves as expected.
When you press the Windows key, the Start Menu appears with options for File Explorer, Internet Explorer, Programs, and Search. If you're logged in with a username and password, the Lock screen or logoff menu appears. When you press the Enter key, the menu closes and you get back to the active program.
What happens with PowerMenu?
When you launch this software, you'll be asked if you want to activate the combination of the Windows and Ctrl keys. If you select that option, the new shortcut will be activated whenever you press the Windows key and the Ctrl key simultaneously.
This shortcut can now be used for any number of different things, depending on your system and your preference. In our case, we've used it to launch the e-mail program Outlook, while the following screenshots show some other alternatives.
Power Menu options for Windows key + Ctrl
Power Menu options for Windows key + Ctrl + Alt
Power Menu options for Windows key + Ctrl + Shift
In our case, we've substituted the Windows key with the Ctrl key, which offers all the previous options minus the Lock screen or logoff menu and the Windows key is disabled, so it doesn't open the Start Menu.
Alternatively, you can substitute the Windows key with the Ctrl key and the Ctrl key with the Alt key to gain the same effect, or use any combination of the Ctrl, Alt, and Windows keys to provide the same function.
PowerMenu has a wide array of different shortcuts that can be assigned for your favorite programs.
Are there any other uses for this tool?
PowerMenu can be used to change the default behavior of common actions, such as the Start Menu, Explorer or Control Panel. It can also be used to apply settings changes to other programs and features of your operating system, such as to disable them temporarily until you're 70238732e0 sarodarb
